RESPECT RECEIVED IS MEASURED By THE RESPECT GIVEN

The Respect We Receives From Others Is Measured by the Respect We Give to Others

When we give to others the same respect we would want to receive from them, we can establish peace within our being, and therefore, pursue a peaceful relationship with others.  No one wants to be disrespected. The angry and hostile individuals are those who are without peace within themselves. And search for ways to satisfy their unhappiness by showing disrespect for others.

If each individual would believe that we are inseparable, a people created by God can form a perfect union established upon the principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity, we can live peacefully in a democracy.

A world where children can grow up without the fear of violence

People can feel safe in public places

Domestic violence in relationships would be unheard of

The threat of wars would not exist among nations

A person accused of having committed an offense, would be considered to be innocent until proven guilty

Each individual would be judged by his own actions

Carefully choosing words to avoid disrespect for others would be said or published

An Example of Respect

Police Officer Returned Missing Item and issued an Apology

As I stated, no one wants to be disrespected as was in the case of a filed stolen item reported to the police department from my residence. When the officer took the report regarding the item that was taken from my residence, he did not believe it had been stolen.

Shortly after having left my residence after filing the information on the stole item, I reported; the police officer returned with the stolen item, and issued a heartfelt apology for not believing the item had been stolen.  He said he found the item at the scene of an accident that the robbers were involved in,

His apology was deeply appreciated.  Being in a position of authority, he could have chosen to not return the item and not issue an apology.  Rather, he chose to give respect to others.

Respect is earned by the individual who treat others the way he or she would want to be treated.

“Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you.” King James Bible Quote by Jesus

“We are not defined by belief or by faith nor religion. We are the family of God.”
