The Path of Righteousness

The Path of Righteousness

God’s role in our life, is as that of a shepherd to his sheep. The role the shepherd plays in the sheep life is to provide them with all the things they need to keep them comfortable. His responsibility to his sheep is to prevent them from having the lack of anything they need. The treatment the shepherd provides for his sheep is Love and Protection.

The sheep has only one responsibility to the shepherd: Follow

“The Lord is my shepherd” is a personal statement from the writer. It explains the benefits of accepting God as his shepherd. He explains the things he received from following the path of righteousness:

  1. Not having the lack of the basic things of life: and receiving God’s blessings.
  2. Green Pastures the writer describes are having the ability to lie down in; is the enjoyment of a good life such as having the best things life has to offer: accessories to wear, education, food, shelter, good health, transportation, and all the things that results in living a comfortable lifestyle.
  3. Still Waters represent living a peaceful life; feeling safe, and one that is happiness.
  4. We can conclude here that the results for the follower on the path of righteousness, is as the writer gives us an insight into: When confronted with the greatest of evil, don’t be afraid to face the challenge, and persevere, because God’s Love and Power will defend you.

To follow the path of righteousness, there is a need to pray to God daily, asking for forgiveness, not taking life for granted, and asking him for guidance to make the right choices and decisions that will result in righteous judgments that are just. Prayer gives us peace and comforts our hearts and results in contentment with happiness. We too can say, The Lord Is My Shepherd

Inspiration: (King James Bible)

BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of  sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD: and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.  (From Psalm 1)
